Aug 28, 2008 · Im posting because I have never gotten this result from ShieldsUp before with KIS. I already tweaked the firewall in KIS2009 to make it stealthed, but I failed the test because there was a ping reply. I recently switched from dialup to Alltel wireless access using a USB wireless Internet modem. I I have used GRC Sheilds Up in the past and haven't had any problems. It is important, however, to have a good anti virus application, such as Vijay has suggested, Microsoft Security Essentials. Personally I certainly wouldn't be using Mcafee or Norton anti virus, both being resource hoggers. However, that is my opinion some may disagree. If your router doesn't provide the ability to stealth, you can set up port forwarding for all unsolicited inbound packets to a non-existent address on your network.
